INTRODUCING
BEN PADDOCK
Ben began his sporting career with rugby, transitioning to judo at the age of 10, which quickly became his main sport. At 16, he became a black belt and a member of the England Judo Youth Squad, as well as a qualified coach. Through British Judo, Ben competed in the Netherlands, winning bronze in his first competition abroad.
After moving to Derby for university in 2018, Ben began playing dodgeball socially in the university leagues. Through this, he joined Derby Phantoms and began competing at a national level. In 2022, they were promoted to the top league in England, where they have remained, finishing 4th this season.
Over the last two seasons, Ben has also started competing internationally each year at the French Open (UDO) in Paris, where club teams from all across Europe take part. In 2024, his team won both the men’s and mixed divisions, and Ben was named Men’s MVP of the competition.
After being selected for the England Dodgeball U23 squad in 2023, Ben made his international debut for England in France in February 2024 at the Western European Championships. As a U23 team competing against the full national squads of other countries, they finished 5th in the men’s division and 3rd in the mixed division. Based on Ben’s performances, he was named the Men’s Tournament MVP. Following his performances both domestically and internationally, he was brought into the England Senior Squad in 2024.
EARNING THE
ENGLAND JERSEY
Reaching the England national dodgeball team isn’t just about talent—it’s about proving your commitment every step of the way.
Athletes must perform consistently at club and league level, showing not only their technical skill but also their teamwork, game intelligence, and resilience in competitive matches. National trials offer a chance to be seen, with selectors looking closely at fitness, decision-making, and overall match awareness. Many players also take part in training camps and development programmes, where they sharpen their abilities and gain valuable experience. But what really sets England athletes apart is their dedication—professionalism, discipline, and passion for the sport both on and off the court.
Representing your country is an incredible honour, and it’s reserved for those who truly earn it.

CARYSIL’S HELP & CONTRIBUTION
At CARYSIL, we recognise the immense dedication and sacrifice required to compete at an elite level—especially in sports where athletes often rely on self-funding to pursue their dreams. The financial demands of training, travel, equipment, and competition can place significant strain not only on the athlete but also on their families. That’s why our support goes beyond sponsorship—it’s about removing barriers.
By contributing to their journey, we help athletes access world-class coaching, state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge equipment, and the latest in performance technology. Our backing also enables them to travel nationally and internationally, competing against the best in their field without the added pressure of financial constraints.
At CARYSIL, we’re proud to play a part in helping extraordinary talent reach their full potential.
