Carysil Commits to a Safer and Stronger KBB Industry
Carysil UK has reinforced its commitment to supporting the future of the KBB industry through a series of initiatives focused on safety, professionalism and independent retail support.
As the UK’s only manufacturer of sinks, taps and surfaces, Carysil has long championed innovation and responsible product development.
Recent developments surrounding crystalline silica have highlighted the importance of collaboration, education and higher standards across the sector. Carysil is committed to playing a leading role in that journey.
Championing a Safer Industry
Following the Health and Safety Executive’s recent crackdown on silica dust and the much needed introduction of stricter controls surrounding engineered stone fabrication, Carysil has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering safer solutions for fabricators, installers and retailers.
The company’s silica-free Minerva, Metis and Mariz solid surface collections, together with the launch of its Cristobalite-free Aravalli sintered stone, demonstrate Carysil’s continued investment in material innovation designed with worker wellbeing in mind.
“The safety of the craftsmen and professionals within our industry is at the heart of everything we do. We believe beautiful, durable surfaces should never come at the expense of worker health and we are committed to helping drive positive change throughout the sector.”
Marcus Smyth, CEO of Carysil UK
Supporting Best Practice Through WFF Membership
Carysil has officially joined the Worktop Fabricators Federation (WFF), further strengthening its commitment to safety and professional standards.
Working alongside the UK’s leading trade body for surface fabrication, Carysil will support initiatives that promote best practice, health surveillance, education and safer fabrication methods throughout the industry.
The partnership reflects a shared ambition to promote higher standards and ensure workforce protection remains a key priority at every stage of the supply chain.
Strengthening Support for Independent Retailers
Carysil has also become a Corporate Member of the Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association (KBSA), underlining its commitment to supporting independent retailers and designers throughout the UK.
Independent showrooms remain the backbone of the KBB industry and face increasing challenges posed by evolving regulations and market pressures. Through its partnership with the KBSA, Carysil aims to provide retailers with not only market-leading products, but also technical expertise, education and ongoing business support.
“Our membership with the KBSA isn’t simply about joining an association; it’s about supporting the businesses that have helped shape this industry. We want to be a trusted partner that retailers can rely on as the market continues to evolve.”

Shaping the Future of the KBB Industry
These latest developments reflect Carysil’s wider vision for the industry: one built on innovation, collaboration and responsibility.
By investing in safer materials, supporting industry organisations and strengthening relationships with independent retailers, Carysil continues to champion a future where exceptional design goes hand in hand with higher standards and long-term sustainability.
