Marcus Takes to the Track for Hospiscare

At CARYSIL, we spend a lot of time talking about performance. Usually, that means beautifully engineered sinks, taps and surfaces. Recently though, performance has meant something slightly different. It has meant lap times, racing lines and a healthy dose of competitive spirit.

Our CEO, Marcus Smyth, has teamed up with QMS to compete in the Devon Business League at RaceWorld Exeter. The goal is simple. Raise as much as possible for Hospiscare.

So far, together with QMS, we have raised £811 through our JustGiving page. A fantastic start, and we are only at the beginning of the season.

More Than Just a Race

The Devon Business League runs over seven months and brings together local businesses for some friendly competition. There is plenty of banter in the paddock, a bit of rivalry on the track and, no doubt, a few sore muscles the next morning.
But behind the racing is something far more important.

Hospiscare has been caring for patients and families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon for more than 40 years. Each year, around 2,500 people receive specialist palliative and end-of-life care from their dedicated teams. It is a service that makes an enormous difference at some of the most challenging times in people’s lives.

Like many charities, they rely heavily on fundraising. That is why this matters.

Leading from the Front

For us, this is about showing what CARYSIL stands for. Community. Care. Doing things properly.
Marcus getting behind the wheel is not just about enjoying a bit of healthy competition. It is about leading by example and supporting a cause that touches so many local families.

We are proud to be part of it. We are proud to be partnering with QMS. And we are proud to support Hospiscare.

If you would like to help us build on that £811 and keep the momentum going, you can support the team via our JustGiving page. Every donation helps. Every lap counts.
